The aromatics show a picante lifted Chinese five spice intensity before black berries, black cherry, crushed limestone and a gravelly minerality. Full, compact and texturally quite complete, the palate has an attractive freshness, soft harmonious acids and a drying, stony mineral finish. A power packed Nuits. Drink from 2026 to 2036+. A pungent nose of wood and reduction is all that can be detected. By contrast, there is good verve and freshness to the supple, round and slightly more refined middle weight flavors that possess a finer texture before concluding in a firm and somewhat raspy finish that is a bit firmer still.
