Alluring aromatics show purple flowers, gun smoke and subtle flinty reduction before graphite, salty cassis, black cherry and cured meat nuances. The palate is fresh and crunchy, quite linear with tart angular tannins and chalky tannins that create an intense, mouth-watering expression with an earthy black currant finish. Enough reduction to suppress the underlying fruit masks the nose at present. Otherwise, there is excellent freshness and vibrancy to the sleek and nicely detailed flavors that flash a subtle minerality on the lightly austere and inviting if ever-so-mildly tangy finale. Even so, I suspect that the tanginess will slowly dissipate once this is bottled. Worth considering. [Allen Meadows, 01/01/2026]
