Tasting Notes

Cask sample. Deep dark ruby. Sweet start – very flattering indeed! But perhaps less classic than some. Tastes almost of dunked ginger-nut biscuits. (JR) [13/01/2026]
Anticipated maturity: 2027-2034
Greg Sherwood 93-94+
A richly detailed wine that s slightly broody at the moment with black berry fruits, black cherry, graphite and gun smoke. The acids are well integrated yet fresh complimenting seamlessly silky tannins, crunchy black currant fruits, and a cool, lean, linear finish. Such understated power is a pleasure to behold. Drink now to 2038+. (Wine Safari Score: 93-94+ Greg Sherwood MW) [Greg Sherwood MW, 01/12/2024]
Jasper Morris 91-94
Aux Cheseaux, which sits on hard Calcaire de Comblanchien limestone, has a denser purple colour. A perfumed Chambolle-like nose, some violets with a little vanilla, then slightly richer darker fruit on the palate, indicating that this has ripened well. The oak returns at the back but the fruit will win the day. Drink from 2031-2037. Tasted Nov 2025. Star rating:4 100pt score: 91-94 [Jasper Morris MW, 01/11/2025]
