Always the Arlaud gem in the crown, this is another iconic Bonnes Mares from circa 50-year-old vines with power, intensity, and regal class. The aromatics are packed with damson plum, black berries and blue berry fruits with hints of baked pastries. The palate is unusually sleek and lithe, linear, and polished revealing soft supple tannins, a delicate creamy texture, and a light to medium bodied blueberry fruit concentration on the finish. Jasper Morris 94-96

Mid ruby colour. The nose takes a little more work than Clos St-Denis. Now it starts, sending its complicated Bonnes Mares message along the line of a dark red fruit of sombre hue. There is a lot of fruit here waiting in the background, mixed ripenesses with a little more acidulated character than certainly Clos de la Roche. But at the end there is not the feeling of under ripeness. A final little coffee note. Intriguing. Drink from 2032-2039. Tasted Nov 2025.
