Tasting Notes
Jasper Morris 89-91
The Santenots, with a yield of 30 hl/ha, made up half the Ballot-Millot red production in 2024. Mid crimson with a lighter rim, quite an attractive strawberry perfume, medium bodied but with a little more weight further back. Soft yet with adequate tension and tannins to maintain the balance. Anticipated maturity: 2029-2034
Greg Sherwood 92-94
A seductive perfumed Volnay expression with layers of limestone dust, struck flint reduction, red currant and earthy bramble berry spice. The palate is full of energy and precision, essentially fine boned, mineral-lead, pure and polished with sleek polished tannins and a pithy, red cherry and red currant finish. Serious but also incredibly delicious already. [Greg Sherwood, 01/12/2025]
Anticipated maturity: 2026-2036
