Tasting Notes
Greg Sherwood 97
The prime Desaunay-Bissey Grands-Echezeaux vineyards are East facing being a prolongation of the Musigny Grand Cru, following the North-South axis of the Cote, and are approaching 80 years of age. This regal wine shows aromatics that are rich, intense, and fragrantly perfumed, with intricate layers of violets, rose petals, earthy loam, purple rock candy confectionary, sweet black cherry and exotic blueberry fruits. This wine is yet again a notable big hitter with outstanding concentration and structural power, presented with polished chalky tannins on a long, majestic finish. What a stunner. This is top drawer red Burgundy from a great vintage. [Greg Sherwood, 06/03/2025]
