Tasting Notes

Gorgeous raspberry fruit with succulent sweet oak too. Very smart for village level. Moderate tannins, high acid, medium body. Gives both floral and earthy flavours on the palate, with plenty of persistence. Clearly very well made, although they are not giving it away, in terms of price – and perhaps that new oak is only just in check? (RH) [26/07/2021]

2018, Volnay, Jean-Marc & Thomas Bouley Two thirds below the 1ers Crus and one third above, in Ez Blanches. This has a deep but bright colour, with an energetic nose. Dark red fruit, then some black notes, quite firm dry tannins but the fruit wins through and there is enough acidity. Tasted Dec 2019 by Jasper Morris MW.
