Tasting Notes
Neal Martin 88-91
The 2018 Pommard Village comes from east-facing vines high on the slope in a cool microclimate and is 100% de-stemmed. It has a well-defined bouquet that shows more precision than the Volnay Village, offering blackberry, raspberry and sous-bois aromas. The medium-bodied palate delivers sappy red fruit and a fine bead of acidity. Quite saline in the mouth, with a well-defined finish. Recommended. [Neal Martin, Vinous, 01/10/2019]

2018, Pommard, Jean-Marc & Thomas Bouley Mostly from Vaumuriens, so higher and cooler, being exposed ENE on white soil. Clear bright colour, this has retained freshness on the nose, indeed lively red fruit which is not cooked at all. It comes out nicely spicy, with white pepper at the back, but no stems, despite those descriptors. Long fine finish. Tasted Dec 2019 by Jasper Morris MW.
