Bouley’s vines in this parcel are only 14 years old, but the 2017 Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets is lovely, wafting from the glass with notes of wild berries, raw cocoa, rose petals and dried flowers. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, satiny and supple, its structuring tannins entirely concealed by charmingly juicy fruit, its finish long and pure.
