The Next Fourrier…
One day, while chatting with Pierre Millemann, he asked me whether we had many dealings in Gevrey-Chambertin. “Yes,” I said, “we have the formidable Jérôme Galeyrand in our portfolio.” He replied, “Oh, that’s a fantastic name! But why not add this young estate I’m consulting to?”
Intrigued, I called and arranged a visit. Michaël and Arnaud were incredibly welcoming, and the wines were simply gorgeous. Once I learned about the parcels they owned, I immediately understood why.
Clos Champs (pictured to the left) surrounds the house, with Jeune Rois just ahead—picture-perfect scenery. The views are breathtaking; you are immersed in nature, where a young family has returned to their ancestral home to start a new chapter.
The beauty of the Domaine is unlike that of so many other winemakers in Burgundy. It’s about the desire to live well and create magic in the bottle.
Michaël left Lyon with his wife and two children, while Arnaud stepped away from the banking industry. It was time to reconnect with nature and embrace all the good things in life.
There is no business plan—just a great vibe. A young family is embracing life in this quiet corner of Gevrey, surrounded by their pets and looking forward to the future. We wish them all the best and the wine speaks for themselves. There is a purity that many more famous and expensive names would be envious of.
